You know what’s cool? When your spoken English class is full 31 freshman who don’t know who Bob Marley is and you teach them the song “Three Little Birds.” First, I introduced the man. Then I taught them the lyrics, with them reading them aloud. Finally, I put the music on and it was all good. Hehe, I got them singing Bob Marley. We had KTV in class.
I taught them Musiq’s “Just Friends” too. We watched trailers for Sherlock Holmes, Micheal Jackson’s This Is It and More Than a Game. Hey, we had class on a Sunday.
i’m not a big fan of bright lights before i go to sleep. when i take a shower i usually don’t turn on the lights. a little bit of light from the hallway or natural light will do. i take a shower everyday. what’s there to see.

I can only speak for the things that I’ve been through. Well, if you knew there was a motorcycle just sitting there rottin’ away, been there through countless thunderstorms, accumulating rust, on top of that parked in front of the foreign students dorm, most likely a foreigner with money to spend who just left it there when he went home, you heard through the grapevine it had been parked there for say 3 years. What to do?
回收利用 Make use of old things. I’m a big fan of that. Must come from my pops. Like riding on those country roads. I made a stool out of junk wood from the basement yesterday. It was interesting when my friend whose good at fixing motors came with a van to scoop the two-wheeler. It’s good to have friends here and there. My friend 小吴 (校警队之一) let them slide on their way out. 500元. do the math, man! Less than $75.
See the license plate. 新宿区 (Shinjuku), maybe i’ll go there while I’m in Japan next month. 太好玩儿!If you don’t look closely you won’t catch the little things. Ridin’..
I enjoy riding a motorcycle on a nice day, or night, listening to some hittin’ music, like that off The Last Kiss. Track 16 is fire too.
i told my students in class today they should appreciate the freedom they have nowadays. for them to enjoy their college years but to also make the best of them. i said they should study hard, be serious in class, and then you can play hard. i said that after two girls sitting towards the back were looking at a magazine during class. i told them nicely to close the book and pay attention. later when it seemed they still weren’t interested in class i started to go on about this. i spoke quite passionately as i held in my anger. [good job, ben.] it seemed to go over well. then i tied in my soapbox speech into the lesson. i said, “it’s unbelievable i just said that because i was a terrible student in high school.” yes, after teaching you know how not easy it is.
hehe.. one of my students, sean, he said i remind him of abraham lincoln. hahaha.. i need to trim my beard or shave the joint. it’s interesting, since he was 12 years old sean has wanted to be an engineer. because he worked hard in elementary school he was able to attend the best school in his county. but when he got assigned his college and arrived here he was unable to fulfill his childhood dream of becoming an engineer. now, he’s an english major. not sure if because this school doesn’t have an engineering program or not many students are accepted into the program. i told him, don’t lose hope. maybe you can study engineering on your own and one day you can put it together with your english skills. he seems optimistic.
staying optimistic day to day is a hard thing to do. we should try our best. besides cherishing our time we should cherish the ones that are close to us.
