第十六課: 看病

Ch. 16 Seeing the Doctor
Integrated Chinese Level 1, Part 2

When I first heard the last line of this dialogue I thought it was pretty funny. You know you enjoy studying a language when you get a kick out of dialogues from your textbook. Woohoo!

  1. Li XiBao Says:

Translation: The patient tells the doctor his stomach is really bothering him and yesterday he had to go to the bathroom a lot. The doctor asked what he ate yesterday. He ate some leftovers and didn’t know how long the food had been there.

The doctor says he ate spoiled food. The patient says, “Do I have to get a shot?” The doctor says, “No, just take this medicine and you’ll be fine. But, you would really be better off if you didn’t eat anything for 24 hours.” Then the patient says, “那,我不是要餓死了嗎?” (Then won’t I starve to death?) “這個辦法不好.” (This is not a good idea.)
