This evening I saw a skate competition. I met some guys who run a skate shop in Ximen. They had a contest between themselves. The winner got a 160nt ($5) and a Corona. The spot where they skated is in front of a hospital near Ximen shopping area called the fish bowl. Ximen is always busy at night so lots of people were watching them skate.

It didn’t rain today but I didn’t play ball. I’m ready next time though. I bought the shoes. It took me long enough, I don’t like shopping. I went to Gonggguan, a market next to Taiwain University. I bought some books at a used book store. A picture book for Chinese children studying English. It has the English and the characters. I can use it to study. I got these old prints of postcards printed by the National Museum of History. Each pack has like 8 cards from one artist. They’re like collector items. I also bought some floor cushions and straw mats to make a nice sitting area in my room. I don’t like to sit at my desk, it’s not comfortable. I won’t go shopping for a long while. I spent too much money.

It’s 10:18pm Friday Night. I’m checking the weather forecast. I want to play basketball outside tomorrow. One site says there is a 90% chance of rain, one site says 50% and another site says plenty of clouds in the morning, then times of clouds and sun in the afternoon. Well, you can see which one I fare but how can they be so different. Looking at how this week has been, it’s mostly likely going to rain again. It rained everyday! At least last weekend was nice.

Riding my scooter home in the rain last night was no fun. I despise riding in the rain. Rain is fun to be in sometimes. But not when riding a scooter. Tonight after work I walked to the metro station for the first time. I usually take the bus. It took about thirty minutes. It was raining but I didn’t mind. I’m in a good mood.

I didn’t sleep very well last night. I played squash afterwork with co-workers and was really tired but at night I couldn’t sleep. I was thinking about the fall school semester and what level I want to teach. And should I continue practicing my gongfu training.
