Grasslands (草原)

I made it to the grasslands. Yesterday I had a tempature of 102.3 F, ayi wouldn’t let me go unless I got better. In one day I got a lot better, still had a fever today but not very high, her younger brother is a doctor and said I would be okay. Yesterday she wanted to take me to the hospital. It was the first time I got sick since being in China so I think it’s not so bad, everyone gets sick sometime. I got used to the food pretty fast, maybe after a week and a half.

I didn’t take any photos today because I didn’t feel well. The sun was blazing and it was quite hot. When the sun is out of sight it is cool on the grasslands, there is always a breeze.

The car ride to get there was 4 hours. We had to take some crazy bumpy dirt road for part of the trip, really crazy, if something went wrong with the car we’d be waiting around a long time for help because we were out there.

We went to a grasslands park, a llama temple and then spent rest of the day at an Inner Mongolian style ranch. We ate and drank in huts, then they sing you songs, we rode horses. Lu and her cousins were scared riding the horses and had a person lead the way for them, I rode by myself, first time to do that since I was little.

Seeing the clay houses people live in is really humbling.
